New Day is a 10-week program for women and men going through the early stages of grieving because of the death of a loved one. This seminar helps those in grief to deal with their loss and try to move on in life. This program was instituted by its author, Sister Mauryeen O’Brien about 20 years ago, and Sr. Mauryeen still coordinates it, and trains the facilitators.
St. Michael’s offers this program two times a year – March and September. There are 3 facilitators, who have been trained at the Family Life Office (Archdiocese of Hartford) in Hamden.
