Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are called by God to become servants to other
members of the Body of Christ. The Primary function of an Extraordinary Minister is to assist the
priest in distributing the true presence of Christ to other members during the sacrifice of the Mass.
A secondary function is to take the Eucharist to the sick & home bound.
Scheduled Ministers
are to exercise their ministry on a regular basis - twice a month is the minimum.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to the Sick
takes Eucharist to the home bound, nursing home and assisted living residents.

Extraordinary Ministers are expected to:
- Serve their scheduled Mass or find a substitute
- Be punctual when scheduled to serve.
- Dress appropriately on scheduled week: Men- Jacket & tie, Women- Dress/skirt or nice pantsuit.
- Never wear - Sleeveless clothes, golf or polo shirts, jeans/Dockers or shorts.
- be 19 years old & a member in good standing of the parish.
- live & practice their faith daily.
- New Ministers will receive training in duties & theology of the Eucharist.
- be appointed by the Bishop & commissioned by the Pastor at Mass.
